Skincare Products #3

Third/last batch of the samples I got from the Ulta gift hydration samplers that I have tried out.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment --- I actually got 2 samples from Raymond and it lasted me longer than I expected. A little goes a long ways. It has a pretty thick consistency which I am not a huge fan of. I think it did help a little with my dark circles. Would probably get this if it was on sale, but not for the full price.

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane --- Used it once and I did not like the oily texture of it so I stopped using it. I really don't like putting anything oily or that feels oily on my face. So not sure if it works or not for my skin.

Shiseido Moisturizing Gel Cream --- N/A. Give to to my aunt as part of her birthday gift. 

Clinique All About Eyes --- Has a nice and smooth consistency. Soaks into skin easily, but I don't really see any major differences after using it for like 3 weeks so far. Probably wouldn't get again unless if it was on sale.

Kate Somerville Cleanser --- Did not work for my skin. It irritated my skin after using it. Probably going to end up giving the rest away since I can't use it.

Skincare Products #2

Second batch of the samples I got from the Ulta gift hydration samplers that I have tried out.

Hanskin Hyaluron Skin Essence --- Love this product and will probably add it to my skincare routine. It is hydrating and helps serums sink into your skin. I love how it is a toner, moisturizer and essence in one. It is lightweight and feels refreshing on the skin after application. Would 100% purchase again and I think it might even replace my Thayers Rose Witch Hazel Toner.

Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly --- Pretty light moisturizer that has a jelly consistency which absorb pretty well for my skin. No smell and somewhat hydrating. I do find my skin slightly dry around my cheeks after a few hours though. Not bad, but probably wouldn't purchase again.

Peter Thomas RothWater Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream --- A very light moisturizer with no smell. The consistency feels like water and it goes on the skin very smoothly. Skin feels refreshed and hydrated afterwards, but by the end of the day, I see some dry spots. Would purchase this product again if it was on sale.

Tula24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream --- Has a very strong fragrance smell (kind of like perfume smell), which I am not a fan of, and a semi-thick consistency. Leaves my skin feeling hydrated though. Wouldn't buy again due to the smell and the price of the product.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ---A nice moisturizer with no apparent smell. It is not too thick and my skin feels moisturized afterwards. My skin doesn't feel oily/greasy after putting it on. Would purchase this product again.

Skincare Products #1

These past few months I have been trying out some new products I purchased mostly from Ulta. Here are my thoughts on them.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG --- This product is supposed to help reduce puffiness and dark circles around the eye. It was pretty cheap too, only about $6, so I decided to try it out because I have pretty bad eye bags. I used this before applying my eye cream. It is alright, don't see much of a difference and sometimes it would irritate my skin by causing these slight stinging sensation and my skin would be red. Don't think I will re-purchase this.

Rice Brightening Scrub Foam --- My current facial cleanser that I use when I shower at night. I love the grainy texture of it and it smells nice. It feels pretty gentle on my skin and leaves it super soft after I shower. Would probably buy again.

Coola Mineral Sunscreen Unscented Matte Tint --- Got this a while ago, but haven't really used it till recently because I did not like the greasy texture it has when you apply it. But I learned to get over it and once it has set, the greasiness goes away. I like the matte tint of it though because it provides a slight coverage for me since I don't wear foundation or concealer. I would probably get it again if it was on sale, but do want to try out other sunscreen. This is the first face sunscreen that I have tried out.

DermalogicaClear Start Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask --- Was browsing on Ulta and decided to give this product a chance because of the good reviews. It was pretty disappointing. I think it got rid of some of my blackhead, but not all. I feel like it didn't really work on my skin and I only saw a slight difference after using it. It was an interesting product, a few seconds after applying it you would feel and see the fizz happening. Would not purchase again.

Dead Sea Mud Mask --- I usually prefer to use face mask sheets but decided to give this a try due to the good reviews. Utilized this mask a few times already and it has left my skin feeling very soft and clean. A little product goes a long way, so I am sure this jar will last me for a while. Would buy this again.

Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum --- I got this since it was on sale for half the price for Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty sale. It is originally priced at $39.00. I didn't see too much of a difference on my skin, but it was hydrating and easily soaks into your skin. It doesn't feel oily and I love how it is a pump. Just wouldn't pay full price for it though.




These are a few of the samples I got from the Ulta gift hydration samplers that I have tried out.

Pixi Glow Tonic --- This product irritated my skin and made it red! Would definitely never buy this product and I am glad that I got to try it out as a sample size. I like the small portable bottle though, so I will probably dump out the rest of the product and pour my other toner in it.

Dr Brandt Hydro Biotic --- I did not like the smell of this product, it just smells odd to me. But the product works pretty well and my skin feels very soft and hydrated afterwards. The texture of my skin has improved as well. It is currently priced at $52 on Ulta....yeah that is too expensive for me. I would probably purchase it though if it was on sale.

It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Anti-Aging Moisturizer --- Yay finally using an actual face moisturizer for my skin instead of a body lotion hahaha. Don't know if it is because I am finally using a face moisturizer or if it is the product but my skin has been feeling very soft and smooth. This product does feel very moisturizing and a little goes a long way. My skin definitely looks healthier. I would purchase this again. Love the small container of it and will reuse it to store my moisturizer whenever I am traveling.

Nighttime Skincare Routine - March 2020

Since quarantine started, I have been really into skincare products and trying to find a skincare routine that works for my skin. Just trying to take better care of my skin and hopefully one day achieve that glass/smooth skin. Been watching a lot of product reviews and skincare routine on YouTube, and reading articles on Google. Still have a lot more research to do and try out certain products to see if it works for my skin.

Random note, but I haven't worn makeup since I got Lasik, February 14, 2020. Almost 3.5 months of just my bare face :) It has honestly been very refreshing. Yay for learning to embrace my bare face.

Until a few weeks ago, I always just assumed that I had oily skin, but after doing some research, I realized that I don't. I think that my skin type is combination/sensitive based on reading about all the different skin types.

My daytime skincare routine is pretty much non-existent since I just wash my face with water and then put on lotion in the morning.

My nighttime skincare routine used to be just a facial cleanser and lotion. Around 2-3 years ago I added the Witch Hazel toner and the It's Potent Eye Cream from Benefit Cosmetics (which made no difference at all) to my routine. Then just last year, Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Micellar Cleansing Water got added to my routine.

Currently in the process of changing up my nighttime routine and trying out new products.

Anyways, here is my skincare routine from February to March of 2020:

1. Cleanse my face with the Micellar Cleansing Water using a cotton pad.
2. Wash face in the shower with the Rice Water Bright, a face cleanser.
3. Pat on some Witch Hazel toner.
4. Use one of the serums (Hyaluronic Acid, Mizon Snail Repair or Peach Sake). I would rotate between them every three days. 
5. Use a jade facial roller (not pictured here).
6. Put some eye cream on. Currently using the one from Mizon.
7. Moisturizing my face with the Vaseline Aloe Soothe.

My thoughts on the products:

•  Micellar Cleansing Water --- It is a great makeup remover and it just makes my face feel clean. Could visibly see all the dirt on the cotton pad even when I am just using it to cleanse my face. Would definitely buy again.

•  Thayers Witch Hazel --- Currently on my third bottle and it has been amazing so far. Makes my skin feel refresh and soft. Also, I love the smell of it. Would definitely buy again.

• Vaseline Aloe Soothe --- I have been using this for so so long! It is actually a body lotion that I use for my face. Probably not the best thing for my face but it has been working for me for years now. I love how it is not greasy and heavy. I really should invest in an actual face moisturizer though. Would definitely buy again.

• Rice Water Bright --- Randomly came across this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It is alright, didn't really feel a difference with it. Would probably not buy again.

• Mizon Eye Cream --- Loving it so far and it has been way better than the previous one I used. I think it has slightly helped me reduce my eye circles. Very hydrating eye cream. I even got one for my mom. Would definitely buy again.

• Hyaluronic Acid, Mizon Snail Repair and Peach Sake ---These three serums have helped improve the texture of my skin, but the difference isn't drastic or anything. Our of the three, the Hyaluronic Acid is probably my favorite and has made the biggest difference so far. Would buy again.
